I would have to respectfully disagree. Yes, it can get very hot, but every body has different heat/cold tolerance. With adequate planning the heat becomes manageable. Last year three of my buddies and I did the entire WRT in the middle of August. It was HOT. It was very HOT. But it was extremely enjoyable. Simba p.s When I get to Hell I am requesting an A/C from the Management or will insist on a transfer. Or the Management will get an eternity of my bitching.
One Day I will have the skill required to ride Poison Spider Trail. This picture was from a Jeep ride. Maybe, next year. Simba
Lol, That's about 100 yards off the trail up a VERY steep piece of stone with bad drop offs. I went up there with the group but nobody would follow.... Little arch is super pretty!!
Looks like you had a blast and made some new friends. Hope to ride with you again some day. Bugrider and I are riding a dual sport ride in Renfro Valley, KY next weekend. Check it out: http://www.usdualsports.com/2012/07/2012-renfro-valley-dual-sport.html If you take all the technical trails, it is alot more like an Enduro race than a Dual Sport ride...
Hello Jeff, I had a blast with the new/a couple old friends. You guys would have seen the small improvement in my ride ability. I am getting a touch better every time I get out there. I am in the planning stages of a 'Circle Tour Lake Superior'--a 4-5 Day event. Man, I wish I could join you and Bugrider on your rides, but I know someday we will reconnect. Anyhow, please give my regards to Bill and Sean. I may be driving through Georgia and doing some riding in Florida Everglades sometimes during second week of June. This will be strictly paved on Road ride. Then, I hope to go out to Southern Utah for riding with some buddies around St. George around June 24-June 26th. There is a lot of dual sport riding and single track stuff in Michigan but the scenery is a little lacking for my taste. I got desert and red rock DNA coursing though my veins. Later friend and be safe, Imu
Glad you guys went outside the comfort zone. It's good for the soul. I love Moab and would be there the end of next week but bought another bike and will be riding that back from Phoenix on some new trails to me. I've been the 5 times now and NEVER get tired of looking at pics of the place and the riders with the look of awe on their faces. It's truly a place EVERYONE needs to go to in their life at some point. Ride hard boys!
Remember, I offered an ankle block followed by a field amputation. A prosthetic foot and you would already have been riding instead of having to wait another 5 weeks. But liking your pictures. See you in St.George around June 24th or so. Simba One rider in this picture has a right fibula fracture at the time. He one tough dude. No broken fibula yet.
you'll be riding it in no time <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/celzAHzIo7w?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
The penalty of making a mistake is a tad high for my taste. On the other hand, once I stop going down in 3 inch deep sand, I may be up to a challenge. Ohh, oh , here comes my wife, gotta go. Simba
I will be in the Moab area starting this Saturday July 19th if anyone is interested in riding some trails. Thanks, Simba
Hey my friend, I wish I could escape my responsibilities right now and join you, but I just can't make it work. Sorry. Are you joining forces with StG? BTW, please say hello to my money while in Vegas! Thanks again for making my 55th, it was a great couple of days! Did you get your 'arse' to a hardware store to stock up on zip ties??
Hello Sam It was lots of fun in St. George. StG busy with family matters. Vegas is lots of fun but I stopped paying additional interest on lost money many years ago. On Lake Powell for a couple of days and then Moab. Imu Hello Bud, Hope you are doing well. I have gotten a touch better, but still hate sand. We will be departing Moab Thursday of next week. Simba
Just back from 5 days in Colorado where the riding was great and the temps really nice! Moab in July? Well I do have some unfinished business regarding TheWhite Rim. Are you planning on doing it this trip?
