    Been wanting to start my own home brew hobby, but would like to taste other inmates attempt at it. We could have a weekly or monthly get together. Those that brew bring that, those that don't, bring a high quality micro brew.

    And after I finish this off, I'll toast the rest of the misfits in ADV land with a smoky porter, possibly a stout, or even a mead. Sometimes indecision can be a good thing. :lol3

    Around $100. I'd suggest finding a local homebrew supply store. They usually have a kit for starting brewers like this:

    Ingredients per batch run from $25-$40 depending on the complexity of the recipe.

    Starter kits are about $100. Ingredient kits $20-$50 for 5gal. And you will need to supply a large pot and burner. For starters you can use a canning pot and stove top, a step up is a turkey fryer. Save your bottles.

    I've been brewing for about 3 years. My beers are all-grain. I also do wine kits, meads and this fall some cider. A few batches have been horrible (but I know why), a few OK, but most have been very very good.
