    I loved that track at Niles, second only to the half-mile fairgrounds track in Goshen, Indiana. I've been fighting the urge to kit out an XR100 to run some maddog races but so far my wallet has made it an easy battle.

    It's been a while for me, but my impression is that trials tires are a little too aggressive. There's actually a fine line beyond which you have too much traction and it gets hard to be smooth through the corners. Plus it depends on the track. A trials type tire might be the shit on a deep cushion but wouldn't work well at all on a grooved track.

    That's a genuine Harley part from the '90s, I believe. Even says Sportster on the seatpad. Storz sells a couple similar ones. I lucked out on the pipe too, haven't seen one in a while.
