I have to be honest, I don't ride in the above 85 F weather very much. I just didn't want a separate jacket for warm weather. Most of my riding is 40F-75F with times slightly below and above that. Hard to justify a mesh jacket for a small window of riding.

If 40-75 is most of your riding, then you'll be fine with either the Teknic Freeway or the Olympia AST.

For reasonable price range, I got a Joe Rocket Ballistic (standard 3/4 length touring model) about 8 years ago. I can't believe it but its still holding up great. Venting is terrible, but its fairly water resistant, much more than I expected it would be. Only thing that has come off is the cheap plastic J.R. logo patches on the shoulder ballistics. Think I paid $180 for it from some ebay clearing house.
