Its good to hear of something not-harsh for soaking aluminum carbs. Most degreasers are quite alkali, super purple, ammonia, simple green etc.

Wonder how pine sol would do in the ultrasonic cleaner.

How about Pine Sol in one of those cheapie HF ultrasound cleaners? I'm going to give this a try.

Though I wonder if you'd get very different results if you did a 3-day soak in anything else....alcohol, gasoline, turpentine (since that's also pine oil), seafoam enriched gasoline (SEG...I like that term. I'm going to start using "SEG" as a recomendation for cleaning), etc followed by a high pressure wash like you did.

And if Pinesol is alcohol and pine oil, why isn't the alcohol bad for the rubber and plastic parts?

What did the parts look like before you pressure washed them?

I have done the 3 day soak with straight full strength Sea Foam on really bad float bowl gunk (5 year old gas) and plugged pilot jets (disaaembled) and it did NOT work, I ended up with soak type carb cleaner. Soaking in spray carb cleaner, straight acetone and straight napthya also did not work.
Straight acetone did work on a boat fuel tank softening an inch of twenty year gas gunk after a week soaking.
Sea foam has alcohol in it too.
