Hey Rally Fans! Yesterday marked opening of 2014 entries, and the beginnings of 2014 Dakar planning. RMS is again planning on sending a truck this year in support of 2 riders. We'll probably send our Ford F350 assistance truck. This truck has been run by Rally PanAm since 2006, usually supporting Jonah Street and some North American privateers. We have 4 seats in the truck. 2 of the seats are available for "guest team members". Ted Johnson came with the team in 2012 and wrote the fantastic book, Tales From The Bivouac. Now it's your turn to see the Dakar from within. This opportunity is ideal for rally fans, journalists, media professionals, authors, and adventure travelers. If you'd like to join us, please contact me. The Dakar isn't cheap. All-in price will be around $20,000, which includes ASO entry fee and your share of the truck and bivouac setup. Every person who has ridden in this seat before has said that it was the trip of a lifetime and worth every penny. You'll be part of one of the most fun, well run, and longest running North American teams on the rally. You have access to all the bivouacs and restricted areas. You eat with the teams. You sleep in a team tent. You get up early and drive like mad across South America for most of the day. If you'd like to help, including driving the truck, we'll appreciate the work. But, if you want to just wander around and take photos, that is perfectly OK. We're not selling anything here, just asking for you to pay your entry fee and share of expenses. We find that the "guests" in the truck usually round out the team very well. Dave
This is a great opportunity to ride with RMS, and a great team! Don't miss it! Dave, if in any way (translation, mechanical or other) that my 'Around the Block Moto Adventures' team can help, just let me know. We will be chasing from Tucuman, Argentina to Iquique, Chile, on bikes with support truck. We $$ supported Lyndon Poskitt #168 last year and are looking to support another privateer for 2014, maybe someone you can recommend.... Cheers! Toby
Hi all, Riders are getting their letters from the ASO, and we're starting to get requests for support from riders. Assistance crew entries need to be in by August 31 in order to hit the first price break. Otherwise the price jumps another 1300 on Sept 1. So, if you are interested in coming along with us, please get in touch with me soon. Dave
Mike Shirley your trip looks like it was killer! That's a lot of value for $20k... Someone's going to have the trip of a lifetime...

I'd love to throw down some tools & join ya'll. What an adventure. Hey fellas,... pm me if I can put together a package of Beef Jerky, Playin' Cards or just a box of Band Aids. Ain't much friends,... but would love to help in atleast that way. I know realestate in a truck is key,... so give me dimensions even if it's a pack of smokes in size & I'll cram as much as I can in it. God Bless & Godspeed Gents, Sean
