I feel like it's dead weight. Fun bling, but I dont need it. It makes my oil changes just a little bit more difficult because the lines are in the way of the cover bolts.

The R65RR didnt have one, and it got hot and revved its guts out and didnt flinch. I am certain its not required.

Its a stock cooler with TT relocation kit.


Regarding the R65- It has been correctly pointed out that if i cant make it to the finish on the bike that is in the final approach right now, what good is it to try and start another?

(Unless I just pay somebody to make one )

Well I happen to have some parts that I'm eying up... want to check the actual lifter angles of the two block types before I decide which to use but if there are no performance cams for the R65 (type 248 AFAIK) block then I'll go with a 247 block. I know this info is out there somewhere but sometimes it's easier to just compile your own.

I have both blocks. A good R65 block and an R80 block with a wasted oil pump. And one or two older R100 blocks.

Aren't they just adorable? 17 or 18mm shorter.

So this means you can run the non-hinged one piece filter right?

What matters is that it's the short one, hinged or not. The unhinged short one went NLA a few years ago.

Sandblast Rally has been pushed backa month, to the beginning of March.

I'm basically ready.. I'd race it right now, although there are some things I need to do.

Have a small hole developing in the crosstube on the header.

Blinkers are all gefuct. Thinking of retrofitting some flushmounts, and getting away from the tape-and-anglebrackets-trying-to-make-stock-one-work

Those two things are the most annoying right now.

I have a little too much oil in, probably half a quart or so, what the worst that could happen? It gets pushed into the air filter?

annoying valve tappiness on the right hand side, especially when cold. Probably the damn rockers.

Want to shed the oil coller as I said, and there you have it.

in all honesty, I felt slow as shit, too That bike, I dont man, it weighs a ton and steers for shit. I dont know how anybody can ride it :huh

Got rid of my blinkers a few years ago and installed these from Tucker Rocky. For the rear, I welded a mounting plate on each side of the luggage carrier. The front, I utilized the existing turn signal hole on both sides of the fairing. No worries now about them falling off somewhere in the vast unknown.

The only thing you need to be careful for is on the front fairing. The area near the turn signal holes curves a little and these flush mounts are flat. Triple check the final position before drilling any holes for the mounting screws. I ended up going above and behind the existing holes, but your PD fairing is a little different.
