I would have gone if it was Saturday, but I already had plans to go to
the British Iron bike meet in Oxford, MA. Love old British machines.

Let us know when you plan another ride.

Its ok. A buddy showed up at my house on his BMW so we went for a little 140 mile ride.

Saw a whole bunch of advers in Macedonia S.P. and 13 of so dualsporters up on Mt. Riga.

It was a great day for a ride.

I like to ride up Mt Riga and down Mt Washington I'm sure like a lot of people.

If I'm going to spend another hour or two riding around in that area where should I head next?

There's a shitload of dirt roads that start half way down Jug End Rd. and head east. If I were to list them all, you'd end up almost all the way to Springfield MA.

Its really amazing how many there are with only hitting a few tar transfer sections.

That's exactly what I did on Saturday. I usually always headed North but went East and had a blast.

Can you post tracks for the dirt east of jug end rd? I checked it out in base camp and could not see what roads you mean?

Use google maps earth mode and zoom in and you'll be able to see the difference between tar and dirt. Tar appears dark grey or black and dirt look white or light beige. I used this method to lay out the entire BBA 2 years ago.

I'll send you a list of roads when I get some time. You can tie them together, it's part of the adventure!

Any segmented road on Garmin maps (The ones that came on the BMW Nav V) as seen on Basecamp is a dirt road. This is a great place to start and it makes it easy to connect dirt roads minimizing tar (taking the long way round) :deal

Then to top it off you can see your selection on Google Earth and fine tune with many roads that do not show up on Gramin maps but are easily identified as dirt roads on Google Earth.

Finally when you're out riding your planned track, do some exploring and head into any dirt road you find that you didn't see on the map.

I'm looking forward to the list. There's hardly a bad road out there, so the "adventure" ought to be a blast.

I haven't had the time to do the list. I thought that one you made it to your 60s, things would slow down a little. Not the case, I'm busier than ever.

I went riding around out there today. Found so many good roads and interesting stuff on the way there that I didn't get as much time in that area is I wanted. 8 hours and a tank of gas later I've had a great day. It certainly is a remote part of Mass, and a joy to ride around.
Whenever you can get a list together is fine with me.
