If its in Kyrgyzstan it will probably be Manas ...a mythical Kyrgyz leader (who may have actually been Nogai) ... who always seems to look remarkably like Genghis Khan in his statues (which are all over Kyrgyzia)

    I didnt think about it.
Several people (from ADV) responded and wrote me a message they are willing to donate money when I go to the Pamirs again.
Do you think it should be done?

In August 2011, we have successfully conducted the 1st International Motorcycle Tour - Central Asian Ring. The some collected money was aimed to help the children of the Pamirs. We bought two electric generator household for two families who had no electricity in the houses on the outskirts. Each family had children who attended Murgab's school .
GREAT thanks to the participants of the tour:

    Alan Maple (UK)
    Robert Davy (UK)
    Diego Capelli (Argentina)
    Santiago Ramos (Spain)
    Jason Loyd-Jones (UK)
    Frazer Loyd Jonse (UK)

Well doing our last section of the Pamir Hwy into Osh and we come across one the mudslides and guess what was stuck in the middle. A Lada! It reminded of the video posted here.

I had a laugh at the owners expense. A little later a truck got stuck as well. But remembering the wisdom of the forum I waited for the flows to slow down and watched some others go through and then went for it. My wife had to walk through. Lots of fun.

    Hi Marat,

I can't believe I missed your ride report entirely!!!! Great read, I am planning on riding the Pamir on a bicyle next summer.

We have to ride together again next year too. I have some other plans I'd like to discuss with you...

I've seen a couple of your bikes on the Assy plateau this summer by the way, fun! (I was on my mountain bike both times!)

    See you soon...
