Well it was Toddler's idea, and we were helped by the information in their original ride report, especially the elapsed time. But I wouldn't mind coming up with another idea like this.

Starting at 3am was good that time of year because we got Rose Garden in daylight both ways.

I am in awe of people who can do something like the Baja 1000 solo or even ride at a race pace for a couple hundred miles. :eek1
