So, my in-laws are discussing moving into a retirement community. Wife and I will move into their house and I'd get a nice 2-car garage. Currently ride a Honda Shadow but will be looking at a Victory Cross Country tour later. But what I also will do is pick up a Honda Helix and make it a resto project. That way, I have a little runabout for when I don't want to whip out the big bike or drive my truck.
I have a 94 Helix bought new in 95 with 65698 miles. I haven't ridden it in 7 years. Need to put in a new battery and gas. Drained tank when I put it up and turn engine over a couple times a year so it should take off easily. GREAT scooter. I've got a jillion spares for it.
Never ridden a Helix, but never heard of anyone that had that didn't like them. It would probably be a lot cheaper and easier to get a nice one to begin with than a fixer upper.
