I saw this rig at a campground in the Shenandoah Nation Forest earlier today. I can't imagine the money this guy has tied up in this rig. One thing's for sure: he must really like the outdoors (and be filthy rich)!

All I see is incredible cloaking technology, but that may just be Chrome speaking.

Probably less money tied up in that thing than your average full size RV.

The fact that it is infinitely fucking cooler than your average full size RV doesn't hurt either! Want.

I saw the poor man's version of that today in Pilot Mtn, NC. It was a Ford van with a fishing kayak strapped on top and a small dual sport bike stuffed inside.

I spotted this MAN Truck outfitted by Unicat down in Baja California Sur, Mexico last month owned by a German couple.

Also ran into this Unicat built on a Freightliner near San Francisco last summer.

For EU license plates, read the letter code in the blue stripe to determine the country. Remember that the code refers to the place name in a local language, not English, or you'll get confused.

I dated a girl when I lived in Germany whose parents were looking for the same basic thing, to take a DAF and make it into a camper. I helped with the build. It was a lot of fun, and way cheaper than you might expect. Just keep in mind that your Euro military trucks are notoriously underpowered. You aren't going to be pounding down miles on the freeway, and depending on how they are geared, the mountains can lead to some slow climbs. The one we built had a diesel engine, which was much nicer than most of the gas ones. I wish I had taken pictures of it, but it was similar to the build below that was spotted on the Dragon a few weeks ago.

Probably less than the EarthRoamer I saw yesterday down on the Rez in Utah. They must have been at Moab with the gazillion other spandex lovers.

Wife and I saw a couple with a 6x6 Pinzgauer up in the Yukon, that was a pretty cool way to go but it looked like a pretty rough ride - and at a top speed of about 55 mph, it took a long time to get there too!

Also saw an old Leyland ambulance fitted out by a british couple - pretty slick but very slow they said - and the back of those ambis were not rigid - so you can only mount to one surface or the screws will rip right out. Still was an awsome ride - I'll see if I have the pics around somewhere.
