hmm, someone told you didn't they. Picked it up just a few hours ago. A st1300 Too good of a deal. But I will be also picking up a smaller bike at a future date. Im going to start another "which bike should I get" thread so i can decide.
This bike weights like 600 lbs more than me. :) It's definatly a different bike. But worth riding. Brilliantly designed.
Hi all, new member, first post and apologies for bumping an old thread. I was making a similar decision and think I've come to the same conclusion, but wanted to ask some of the Triumph owners if there's a reason to pay extra for an 07 Speed Triple over an 05? I've found both semi-local and both have less than 1,000 miles. The 05 is ~$1500 less. It has fewer aftermarket goodies, but for that $1,500 I could certainly buy my own
color maybe I bought an 06 in black and liked the gold forks better than the black ones...until 08 I think they're the same. 08 like in the pic a few posts up has different rims, supposedly lower passenger pegs, and a brake upgrade to increase feel I have an 06 and think its about perfect
the front brake caliper pistons were updated on the '06 model. It's not an official recall, but apparently Triumph will fix the older affected bikes. the '07 had an updated ECU for quicker starting. Most of the '07s had a slightly different exhaust and not all after market 1/2 systems or slip-ons will work on them. The first '07s still used the older exhaust, look for the heat shield at the bottom of the mid-pipe, to see if it is a newer or older one (shield=newer).
