The xchallenge should be a perfect bike for this, assuming you've got the fuel range. There might be some special treatment for noobs though.

Yes. A few front range riders showed.

I would not even consider it without planning proper fuel range of at least 190 on a 191 mile trip.....

    We will miss you Bill.

Thank you AGAIN for all the hard work you did last year; it sure was a great surprise to pull into camp and find hot food waiting.

This is how I setup my XChallenge for last year's ride. Worked well. Never needed the extra fuel but I'm sure I put in a full tank in Vernal when our group got there for a late lunch snack.

    Things I learned last year:

    1. If you aren't careful, you'll break a noob and have to leave him in the middle of Utah.
    2. tell people to bring beer, not chocolate
    3. don't ride near people with top heavy bikes if you don't want to help them pick'em up.
    4. Bill cooks a helluva a breakfast
    5. Don't trust Geek and his description of directions
    6. Lemur pilot has too much time on his hands and is solid at photoshop
    7. The Wolfpack kicks some serious ass. And that's all you need to know.

I'll try to make it this year. :beer

Bring extra tubes, as sure as shit if you give yours to someone you will have a flat!
The campground host at Lodore will watch your beer if you leave it a week early. He may eat your chocolate.
DO NOT cut the wire, the combo is 5000
If the wind is blowing at Lodore, DO NOT put your tent up by the river, it will fill with sand.
If you need EMT's they are a LONG way way! But they will take care of you.
Just ask the random rancher and they will watch your bike until someone can get there with a trailer.
