Oh cool. That's really good to know.

Looks like there's two BBQ places in town. I guess that's why they call it Little Texas.

My place has the big trout out front by the gas pumps...I just looked on Google and your place is about 3 blocks further down by the square. It was busy but we never ate there. We had a cabin just down from the station. I honestly just thought it was gas station with a store and then walked in and saw and smell BBQ:evil I found it was very good...I might have rated it back last year:deal

Oh, I know where you're talking about now. I had no clue there was Q there.

I'll have to try it next year.

All this BBQ talk makes me want to leave for Texas a few weeks early but I guess I can hang on until mid Oct. I'm flying into SA and am thinking about renting a bike for a week. The place in New Braunfels still rent? Anyone in SA rent anything? No Harleys for me unless its a XR.......IMO the best BBQ in Mich is at a place called Lockharts. Go figure.

A few weeks back I posted in the TWT forum about some good BBQ in Elgin that wasn't from Meyers or Southside.

Give Brisket Boy's BBQ a whirl in Elgin next time the urge strikes you.

The guy is an Elgin local who became disheartened over the downward trend he felt the two classic places had taken as the next generation took the reins. So, he started making his own at home. Then, he took some to work and got orders for a dozen briskets. One thing led to another and now he's set up business on 290 a few doors East of Auto Zone.

Brisket, Pork Ribs, Pulled Pork, and a couple of sausage flavors. Homemade sauce that is yummy. For dessert, there is a unique treat, Smoked Peach Cobbler. I think it is a tasty twist on a classic. Generous portions are served and fair prices for all. Meals are served from a BBQ trailer, but he has an air-conditioned space to dine in a couple of steps away.

Probably a repost, but Millers (no, not the Bill Millers chain) in Belton is IMO the best around. Not a fancy place, served on paper plates, but damn good. Brisket, chicken, sausage... The tater salad is good too. About $10 for a plate full.
Oh, and the Lipton sweet tea in the machine is actually home brewed sweet tea...

A place worth a try is called BBQ on the Brazos. Located at the Texaco station in Cresson, has excellent BBQ. Ft. Worth paper gave it a best of the new places to eat in 2013.

We hit one up today we had never tried. Had looked before and couldn't find it. It's hidden. Backyard BBQ in Morgans Point. It's on the back side of the building, next door to a small church.

Not bad, had 3 meat plate. Ribs, brisket, and chicken. I will be back. They actually have a few other meals that looked good going by on the plate. Burgers and a huge stuffed tater. No brew. Nice dual sport themed dirt parking lot around trees. Lots of outside seating. Good homemade sauce too.
