Not sure how long this thread has been up here, but here's a link to my 2008 Canada north to south ride, which included D2D '08. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=389825
Many thanks for sharing your pics and the ride. Sorry you missed out on the n/s canol road but gives you something else to plan and look forward to in the future. You ride /pics brough back many memories of this trip from start to finish. I taught/coached in Valemount for 25 years and truly love the people and country, many stories/memories similar to your trip. Congrats to a wonderful family, you all deserve to be in the "adv family link" gale
Thanks Gale: I did this trip solo; and that helped when I had to change my plans on the fly, the only consensus I needed was inside my helmet. The other positive was; when you travel alone you tend to talk to more people and make more friends. The people were all very friendly and helpful and very interested in my trip. I plan to try the Canol road again, probably later in the season to miss the high water, but this trip turned out to be very memorable in the end. Thanks for the kind words! Neil
Here's a link to my Northern Dog and Zephyl the flying pig's adventures in the middle of nowhere. These are the adventures of me and my bike in the Northwest Territories.
Well, I usually hang out in the Ride Reports forum, but I thought that some of you would be interested in a recent trip 3 of us took from North Van to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and lots of fabulous places in between! http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=473988 Living in the Metro Vancouver area we are pretty spoiled with our easy access to some fabulous riding, but I must admit, there's something about WA, ID, NV, UT, AZ, NM, CO, WY, MT! It could be the National Parks, the Rockies, the Kootenays, or the vast deserts, but I could spend a whole lot more time travelling through many of those states!! Now if I can just adjust my trip schedule a little to include the BCBTR one of these years, I can see some more BC stuff too!! We saw all kinds of conditions from: to: and a little of EVERYTHING in between - hail, thunder, lightning, you name it we saw it!! Enjoy!
If you're posting a ride report in the Ride Reports forum, and want to provide us with a teaser and a link, this is the thread to use. I've merged your teaser here
