I have a plated KDX200 that i ride on the road alot. I have a single mirror that came with the bike on the left side, however it is blocked by my arm most of the time. Any one have any suggestions for aftermarket mirrors? Keep in mind that I am a college student on a budget :)
I love the Highway Dirt Bike mirrors, but they are NOT a budget item if you buy the whole HDB handguard setup. You can probably fit their mirrors ($25 each) to other handguards if you're handy with a drill and tap. I have not used the DoubleTake mirrors, but they are very highly reviewed. It's about $50 for one, but they seem to be top-notch: http://www.doubletakemirror.com/build/dirt Also, I'm very jealous of the plated KDX!
I second the Double Takes. Nice to loosen the thumbturn and rotate them out of harm's way when you venture off-road. And if you want to use it on the right and don't have a factory perch, just add a RAM accessory.
Just suck it up and get the doubletake. You get what you pay for. Other mirrors will break and youll end up spending as much either way so just do it right the first time.
I use the KTM FAR mirrors and they're expensive but nice too. The DoubleTake mirrors fold in ANY direction though, whereas my mirrors only fold in a few directions. Were I to do it again, I'd get the DoubleTake mirrors for around the same $.
Bikemaster folding mirror, PN 60-1117. cheap around $10, but can take punishment. View is pretty blurry , but I don't trust mirrors, so always turn and look. I just want something to satisfy the Law.
Yup. There's a reason these mirrors are more expensive than $10 toy bicycle mirrors - they actually work!
You can get mirror extensions, either a threaded stud to raise them or a bracket that moves them further out.
