East ?? Where do you think York is?

I'm ichin for a ride . Could be Saturday?

I have an East gps that takes me from Byford out to Karragullen road house that's pretty cool. Does past a few wet and muddy bog holes so I don't know how passable it will be at the moment given the recent rains?:huh

Happy to just tag along if you have any other ideas?:ear

Fuel and time can take us a log further of course.

    Cheers Jay

Sat sounds good as it's t-shirt and BBQ Sunday ;-) York is more north than east isn't it? Anyway yeah, karragullen sounds like a plan, we can navigate around bogged in areas (in theory) but I've got 20l and all day. Anyone else in?

    Your favourite Caltex, Byford!

Tech afternoon for the pig. Carb cleaned out, freshly treated air filter, oil topped up (got a bit low somehow?) chain cleaned and lubed, drilled out my garmin rhino ram holder so the water drains out too. Ran out of stuff to do on the bike so shut the shop and ripped up the Tonkin to the Camsion.

Ol' Smokey is back together again.
    Test ride in the morning.

Edit. Test ride went well. Nothing leaks or has fallen off.
Looking forward to next weekends all day ride.

Had a epic day today, made it to collie and back
425 kms and over 7 hrs ride time
i knew a route down so not problems there
    i attempted a different route back ,
it had made a gpx track that i wanted to follow but for some reason
its didnt load on my gps
so i had to some exploring around the power lines just out of collie
most them lead to dead ends ..
had fun riding around the plantation until i crashed and broke the mirror off ! I run across some locals on motox bikes, and stop to ask them ..
they had no idea , i was surprised a bit , perhaps i shouldn't have been as all those guys do is ride around in circles until they are dizzy !
Finally found the right power line track and i was off ( lost about a hour )
one causeway was washed out , had to walk the bike threw the rather deep creek, there was a couple of gnarly hill climbs before i got to the murray river , so i have to back track a fraction to get across , from there i zig zag threw the bush to get back on the powerlines , which i followed until albany hwy by that time it was almost 5pm so i just slapped it home ..

That's a decent day out. Wouldn't mind trying that ride one day.
Not a big fan of the powerline goat track though, I prefer minor roads and tracks.
What's the powerline tk like further down towards Collie? Much the same as up here?

    Hiya Rod,
I've raced on a few of the Powerline tracks down the way, around Collie and between Harvey and there. I haven't come across any as rough as the Powerlines East of Mundaring. Mostly they are fairly reasonable tracks, some even quite fast:evil. Mundaring is that rough because it gets absolutely hammered most weekends by 4x4's that love nothing better than to make new holes to get stuck in and move giant rocks to crash their diff's against:lol3.

Great to see you again today:freaky.
    Ciao

    Thanks John.
I will head off from Jarrahdale on Sat or Sunday at a moderate speed and see how far I get.
Times and places yet to be determined.

Randall Rd closed at the powerline tk also for burn off. Headed south until Pikes rd then headed east.
Visibility around the burn was very poor.
