New staging location

All confirmed riders have been notified but anyone who is planning on riding with us the staging area for the ride is now off Castle Hot Springs road on the left just before the stop sign. This is the north end of the black top section once you turn off Hwy 74 and right before the T intersection where the dirt starts. 7PM this way we will have a little more time to get to the Mill..... we hope

Keep a good eye on the ruts, the rocks, the holes that can swallow a car......

It was a fun ride today, it was challenging in areas and rutty.....is that a word?

I'm glad we started early so no jeeps or side by sides to get around. I'm sure some areas were bottlenecked with climbers. Did I say watch out for the ruts???? The holes, the rocks.....lots of rocks.

You all will have a good time......ride safe and post up when back with a great Ride Report. Is azredline going?

Drew, I posted a RR on day tripping if you want an idea of what to expect. As Brad says please be careful of the washouts. The worst erosion sections were the 5 miles after the CK Rock turnoff. Lots of challenges through there.
Have fun and let us know how it goes!

Dinner

Arrived at the Mil 9.30. A few spills and thrills but nothing bad mostly slow speed stuff. Crazy amount of RAZR traffic and jeeps all stuck head to head in different directions. We got around them or through them and it was clear sailing. 1 950, 1 650, 1 500, 2 450's and 1 400. Got some gopro footage of some carnage on one of the rock hills so hope that works in the dark.

Well....

Just got in from the ride and what an epic journey that was. Lots of stories to tell and many crashes to share. Dusty on the 950 SE had a big off after dinner and we will have to wait for the hospital report on the extent of his injuries. He rode the big bike for a while and then we switched him on to KTMsers 500 and he rode his SE out to the road for him. What a trooper that guy is. I will post up more later.... right now need sleepy

Glad I did the 6am recon ride instead.

Hope the injuries are not too bad.

Thanks for the gentle explanation. To my face he usually says something to the effect of pussy or girley blouse...not that it isn't deserved.

Hope the downed rider is ok. Did you just get home when you posted that at 5:30am? Wow. Looking forward to the write up!

EDIT. Ok, I see you did in fact just get home at posting. Double wow.

I got home at 5:30 as well. Dusty seems to be in bad shape. I actually got a flat about 20 miles away from Castle Hot Springs and we decided that I'd just ride Dusty's 950 to the truck and come back to get him. He was spent and believes he did in fact break his collar bone. To say he was a trooper to ride the stuff he did after the spill is an understatement.

That aside the ride was awesome. I only took about 5 pics because the ride never let up. I'll post those later. Thanks everyone.

Being the resident "expert" in breaking collar bones, I can definitively say that Dusty is one tough dude! I, on the other hand, being the "big girly blouse" that I am, needed 4 wheel rescues.

Heal quickly, Dusty!

I don't know Dusty, but it sounds like he's eligible for the trophy.

Well shit we could have definitely taken Ryland Creek then if it was only a multiple break Scapula. What a Big Girlie's Blouse

And to think I had to pick up your big heavy bike all on my own...

Oh I think he is definitely up for the Trophy. I got to watch the whole thing and he took a huge hit from standing up on his pegs. Looked like he got body slammed from the top rope and then a 500 pound bike ground him into the dirt to make sure the job was done right.

Get well my friend. Let us know if you need anything.
