Holliday in Victoria.
To surprise my wife on her 40th birthday, I coralled some week-end childcare for the kids and dog, dug through our files to get our birth certificates, packed-up some clothes for us, made package style reservations to sail to Victoria BC and stay somewhere nice, all with the vaguest of clue as to whether she would actually know my plans all along.
She didn't. I could have planned some more of the finer details, like bringing our swimsuits so we could swim in the Hotel's pool, or another memory stix for the camera, or a jacket for her- (I did remember mine though). But all's well in the toothy clan. We saw an ad for scooter rental. I held my breath, she suggested renting scooters. Whoo-hoo! We're talking October First, 95% chance of rain, temps in the low 50'sF, and my loves-to-be-warm-wife wants to ride around this city on scooters. I'm one lucky fellah.  We "had" to go buy her a jacket. The exchange rate, by the way, is almost even money. She was suffering along in this denim jacket untill the rain picked-up.  I'm new to smugmug, so I'll need to spend some more time figuring-out the technology. Lookit me, I'm scootering, damnit.  We had a blast. Highly recomended.

At around 26mph:
 Why use the kick-stand on a rental?  We found a good sheltering tree to hide-out from the rain  Skoot!
