Question Help please,need a Big tank for a KLR600

My friend has a 1986 KLR 600 and we can't find a larger gas tank here in the states...they say that they have them over in europe only. So...if that is true and you guys over there could help me find one, I would be very greatfull

Hi , have you been speaking to Tarka from UKGSer.com about this ? As he has approached me about a similar request.

Yes, we understand English here in England - we invented it :) .... and are you the guy who has been talking to Tarka ( in the UK ) about getting one shipped over to the US... as I have one spare in Kawa green and have been discussing price and shipping with him today.

If you aren't the same person I will post back here if the other guy doesn't want it :)

I'd suggest your friend sell the darn thing. It's creating a headache for you...unless you are actually your friend....

Many, many better bikes out there, even used, than a KLR600.....

keep looking on german eBay for ACERBIS TANK KLR:

http://cgi.ebay.de/Acerbis-20ltr-Tan...QQcmdZViewItem

http://cgi.ebay.de/KAWASAKI-KLR-600-...QQcmdZViewItem

The first one is new, shipping to germany only.
The second one is used, sold by a german used parts dealer. Be sure to ask the sellers about shipping to the US and mode of payment before you bid.

Any chance that I could get someone to get the new tank and ship it to me...I will send a little extra for the effort........

I'm not in Germany as well, so I can't do much more than you can do yourself.

Try contacting the seller, often they are ready to ship abroad. Just drop them a mail and try to work out a way to send them the money and get the tank.

Another possibility is to contact Büse, the Acerbis importer for germany at www.heimracing.de (info@heimracing.de) and check if they have the tanks and are ready to ship to the US.

Touratech lists Acerbis tanks for the 650. Dunno if it fits the 600, but check with touratech-usa.com if they can order it.
