Yes, it is the close-up camera angle that makes the cases look bigger on the F650GS pics, and the ice will have to thaw outside before I can get a pic in better perspective. The 1150GS pics show a more realistic perspective. The cases are about average in terms of size. Not too big, not to small.

1200GS Prototypes

Here are some pics of the 1200GS Caribou System prototype. I'm still working on the front-bottom corner cleat. It will be about 60 days until I have these for sale.

Question 1200GS Looks great

WOW looks great. Glad I didn't pull the plug on cases yet. What's the 1200GS price of the whole shebang (Cases, Mounts, Locks, etc.)?

Nice..
I've got some cheapo 1500's on Touratech rails, and everything I thought was lame about that setup, you've addressed. It was cheap enough to seriously consider tossing for something like this.

You plan on showing those at any rallies? I think my buddies here in NM would love to take a peek.

+1 for the Wee Strom

If the mount for the Wee Strom comes out as nice as the Beemers, I'm on board. That could complicate things. I asked my wife for a SW Motech rack for Christmas which I was going to make work with Pelican cases. The Motech is a nice setup, but I've always shuddered a bit at the look of the thing and how much it stuck out.

So I'll sit here on the bench and look forward to your Strom offerings in the months to come. As soon as you do, all you strommers looking for a rack, keep an eye on ebay

Quit bothering him with questions, and let him get back to work on the setup for the KLR650!

Very nice system. I am just about to buy a set of aluminium luugage for my gsa and these have me wondering if I should rethink.

Anyone have these experience any issues? They look great and Pelican makes great stuff so I know they are quality. Does their "You break it, we replace it" policy apply??

Do the handles flop around over bumps?

Are there any user reviews available?

Whats the lead time for a set for a 1150gsa?

Thanks

Pelicans are the way to go. They rock. However, drilling holes in them does void the warranty.

As for the handles, they don't flop. They're very tight on their hinges and will generally stay in what ever position you put them.

What Todd said, and I'll add that I cover all my products with a 1-year warranty on parts and workmanship. If you break something I am a phone call/email away and will help you get back on the road.

Lead time on the 1150GS - I'll have 10 sets in stock first week of January. Next production run will be much larger (first run has to be small to minimize risks).

1150 GS ADV Mounting question....

can't quite tell from all the pics, but do you use any part of the stock system case mounting system where the lower, leading edge of the bag attaches near the passenger footpeg (other than the subframe loop)? Hope you don't as this is the worst part of BMW's bad system.
Great looking gear!
