I don't get many requests for the 950. If I get a lot of folks asking for it I'll certainly do it. Right now I'll have to pass. If we can simply bolt the rear top case plate to the 950, then a top box is a go, but if we have to add bracing and support, it is less likely.

The parts are in powder coat today, should have them by the end of the week and I'll post the pics this coming weekend. Availability within a couple of weeks ( have to get all the nuts and bolts stocked, install intructions, etc.)

Thanks Roger. I don't know how many Jesse sells and it may be a strictly BMW/GS item (they played 20 questions with me before they would even ship the blasted thing and they wanted to make sure that I was going to mount it over the passenger seat rather than too far rearward and unbalance the bike) but they sure are useful. It completely transforms the bike. Which is usually a good thing

Anyway, good luck with your venture. When I switch bikes I'll definitely be giving you a call to see what we can work out.

I want a top box that collapses to only 1 or 2 inches tall when not needed, expands up to 12-16 inches tall (tall enough for a helmet with enough padding to not break the top vents when you close the top), completely waterproof, a zillion tiedown methods, and secure.

Oh yeah, and can hold fuel safely, too.

Hello Roger,

Any luck with the KLR top case system and getting pics of it?

Well, I got all the parts, but we have a blizzard going on right now and the KLR is outside next to the shop under a couple of feet of snow. I'll dig it out later this week. I keep the KLR outside away from the other bikes, else the other bikes will pick up some bad habits

Well of course you need to leave the KLR outside. I mean the other bikes would probably never run again if you left them outside.

Universal top plate, nice size, aircraft aluminum. The case attachment system is bomb-proof, you will not have to worry about the case coming off, trust me on this one.....
Is the top case made to accept a similiar mounting bracket as the side cases?

So that all 3 bags can be keyed and easily removed?

It won't be a big "U" shaped bracket like the side cases have (it is a much smaller bracket), but it uses the same compression lock so it can be keyed the same as the side cases. On/Off in seconds. Very secure, very tough.

I've been debating hardbags on the KLR, but the three bag Pelican system might be a very good combo. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Will you be able to match key codes to the side boxes I already purchased?
