Just returned home from a 3,200 mile trip home and 2,500 south. I have owned this bike since new in 2006.... Flawless! Love this machine. It is so underrated on the market. Walmart has the oil filters and oils and can be done in the parking lot in 15 to 20 minutes... Ask me how I know

It now has about 31,000 miles on the clock, will cruise at 80 to 90 all day long (don't try this on the east coast). I can't bring myself to sell it for something newer.

This is the stuff it's made for!!!!!!

ArchRider-

That must be the one I recall seeing. I never went, and maybe that is why I cannot find it-maybe it does not exist anymore.

I think there is one that still happens more to the NE, up in VA or further north. A few years ago there was one in NC which was a blast. I tried to resurrect it about two years ago but didn't get much of a response. I don't have time now to try to bring it back again. Maybe between ADVRider and TigerTriple we can boost some interest in getting one going again. I just know that it is a lot of work for whomever decides to lead it.

There is still the RAT Raid in Northern Arkansas every year. I was there in 2010 and had a great time.

Idahosam,

You brought back some happy memories with that pic of the Roadkill
Cafe. Stopped there on my way back from the Grand Canyon a few years back....

I'm curious to know how the wind deflector is working for you. I would love to find something like that to get a quiet, buffet free ride at hwy speeds. That's been the only shortcoming of the Girlie for me.

Route 66 was AWESOME! can't say enough about riding it it's my second time. Yea that little town of Seligan is a buzz of activity, RoadKill was busy.

I think the section from Kingman to Topock is the best though.

About my wind deflector that thing is amazing.... well at least for me. The one real drag on the Tiger was head buffeting at speed but once I out this on no more buffeting, there is still a little wind but it really defuses the wind. It is made for a BMW company Called WUNDERLICH It's also adjustable took me a little time dial it in.

Before I changed to the 1200 Explorer, I used a Palmer Products screen on my 955 Tiger. Did the job perfectly for me.

Where does the wind hit you now? That thing looks way better then a Laminar Lip.

I get a little in the shoulders but not overly noticeable.. The important thing I was shooting for was head buffeting and it works great! Also I can remove it and put on my KTM too dual duty.

This is in Belize... from my trip south of the Border

Good looking rig there though
Pjammer,

You hit the nail on the head. I think these are the pegs, or something similar at least, just bolted to the thunder bike bars. It was the previous owners setup, it worked for him. I have a hard time keeping them straight, with all the falling over I do, and then there's my hobbit feet, they need more support. I would like to figure out how to get an articulating joint on them so they could stick out further and fold up too.

On another note, my Hobbes decals arrived!

Thats kinda what I've been thinking of. Something that will fold up, but that will still support the feet/stretched out legs on the long roads

I've been meaning to make it to that one but coming from Knoxville, it would be at least 4 days, if not more, away from the family. Not ready to do that right now. Heck, I barely have time to ride at all at the moment. Poor kitty just gets to sit in the garage, scratching at the door.

Picked up my new to me 05 last night. I rode it back about 75 miles on the interstate. Asside from the front tire being one I do not like, all I can say is plush. I am very stoked. My real surprise is that my friend followed me back in my 4 cyl Tocoma. I had just stepped off the bike at home when he pulled into the drive. I had no idea a Tacoma would run that fast.
