No he hasn't worked there in awhile. He moved on to a high end door and window vendor and then quit that and hasn't worked anywhere in awhile.

I imagine it will be something along the lines of the Multi-Strada. Interesting.

Like a Multistrada, only Buellier.

ie: Lighter and better handling.

Bet'cha Erik wants his Pike's Peak crown back.

Bet'cha Erik gets it back.

Yeah...I agree. I mean in concept. "Adventure bike" today goes from Multi to R1200GS to 990 Adventure .....with a whole bunch of overweight Japanese things in the mix too...... EBR's will be fast light and streety......like the Duc. Look forward to seeing it.

one of the reasons for buell's demise, IMHO, was the price! don't get me wrong, they are AWESOME motorcycles, and i've owend three of them, but they are way over priced as compared to the competition. they've got to do something about that. i just checked their website, and the 1190RS is going for $40,000 that's a bike with similar specs as the RC8-R (currently on sale for 18,995 at GP bikes), and seems inferior to the Duc 1190 Penegale S (selling for 25K also at GP).

I don't think that the last generation of Buells were over priced. They seemed like good value to me.

The current EBR 1190 is a boutique bike, not a value buy , that's for sure. I am assuming that the reason EBR is branching out into other genre is to reduce cost through economy of scale. It won't be a value brand, however. I'll wait to pass judgement until I see the results.

Dude. Where have you been...

Buell MO Co (RIP) demise had nothing to do with $40k EBR 1190RS's (100 produced and every example sold!).

And the EBR 1190RS has a fairly significant 20HP advantage over the KTM1190.

EBR(Erik Buell Racing) is doing very well (read the links ) with three new models slated for next year under $20k and lots of consulting business (a'la Porsche) to keep the engineering team busy between EBR design projects.

These are exciting times for Erik Buell.
