If you have not yet gone to these, do so... Check the open hours. http://www.townofnwr.ca/home/11 The Labrador Interpretation Centre is fab! Amis (sp?), the guy that was on duty during both my visits there is a mine of information. Plan to spend at least an hour there. Cross the bridge from Sheshatshiu to North West River and turn left at the stop sign then just follow the road. There is an observation point higher up with spectacular views, ask for directions. The Labrador Heritage Museum is in the old Hudson Bay store. Turn right at the stop sign, turn right almost immediately, go past the store and right again. Its right by the river close to the bridge you just crossed. I holed up there for a couple of hours during a downpour at the beginning of the month, Brandon, the student that is working the place for the summer is a nice kid. Ask Brandon to tell you about Mina Hubbard and the difference between Sheshatshiu and North West River. Ask for a free Mina Hubbard pin. Go to 5-Wing’s military museum, it's in the the long building on the right hand side after the road bears right around the field after you first enter the base. Not much of a sign. Ask about U-Boats and German 'bases' along the Labrador coast in the war. Ask about the Flying Fortress that got lost and crashed, some speculate that it was given false nav info by one of those German 'bases'. Cunning devils!

Belleville Honda (cars) will be expanding and taking on bikes and all the other Honda stuff, they will be building a new showroom and should be open in the spring.

![]() Couple of years back, we wanted to buy a Civic for the wife, or something like it. Every other dealer in BV was offering between 5500 and 6k trade for her Subaru. They offered 2500. I spoke with the manager, showed him the offers we had already, and his attitude was 'tough shit, take it or leave it'. She drives a Mazda now. ![]() Same assholes having the bikes? As if sport and lawn wasn't bad enough, they found a bigger bunch of assholes for us to deal with. I'm still gonna buy my oem parts from Montreal. I support good shops, not douchebags.

Previously, when I went into Ultimate Powersports looking for a KLR, (in my back yard) there weren't any deals to be had. The staff was hopeless. They also had a store in Bancroft. Drif is right about the money. Check out the Chev dealership in Trenton for relatives.
I've been dealing with dealers in Eastern ON for over thirty years and some good ones have come and gone. Possibly a cyclical business. Possibly poor business acumen. Point in case. Bridgestone Spitfire S11 100/90/19. Kingston price without any kind of discount $147. Tuscon AZ price $55 US. It's no wonder you guys are dealing where the deals are. Further more, they won't treat you like it's a priviledge for them to speak to you... Fin, you seem to scoff at the idea of a 76 year-old fella gettin' jiggy with it. Where's my blue pills? Or the purple ones, or the little Xmas trees with the speckles on them? Sorry, that was the 70's. Getting Greg out of the motorcycle business in Kingston was a godsend. IMHO, and many others, he was an arrogant little prick. No more Triumph there. Apparently, Triumph only wants to be in cities of 500,000 or more. There is a Yamaha dealer in Kingston,The Performance Shed. Lornce is close to the money. In addition to poorly trained staff, the lack of the "test ride", and being able to talk to a mechanic about your bikes problem and possibly being able to save a diagnostic fee on your old /5 (if they'd even work on it) (sorry, now they call them technicians) they've shot themselves in the proverbial foot and deserve everything that's happening to them. I realise we're living in a different world , but what ever happened to greasy floors, going into the shop and actually seeing your bike being worked on, getting discounts for multiple tire purchases, having lunch with owner, dating his daughter, customer service bla,blah,blah... Ahh...that feels better... Woodgrain |

BV Sport & Lawn have been ok with me, I get my CBX bits and bobs from them, you know 24 of this, 24 of that.... Brian the owner tried real hard to sell me a DL650 in 04, made me a killer offer, major discount... Ultimately my choice was not based on price at all, the KLR was just the right bike for what I intended to do with it.

Eventually that store moved to a newer location and when the civic was at a point of selling it at a good mileage point or keeping it forever I decided to go for the Honda Element with the trade in. I was not happy with the whole thing and in hindsight should not have done the deal. I kept the Element for 1yr and got rid of it and will NOT go to a Honda dealer again, assholes... as you say, take it or leave it attitude, screw 'em. I'm now driving my 2nd Hyundai, good service, great dealer, hell oil changes for free for life!! tell me who else does that?! D

Yeah, got quotes from Hyundai, Kia, Toyo, Mazda, Saturn, plus the big three. Only the Honda guy was playing low ball. And his attitude confirmed as much. Nice product, lousy people to deal with.
If you want me to drop a bunch of coin on your product, simply being polite goes a long way, you know? I'm not just buying the car, I know they're the only shop around for all my service and repairs. I won't knowingly commit myself to dealing assholes on a routine basis. And I'm paying them to be rude to me???? No thanks... So their taking over the bike stuff next year doesn't impress me much.

Well either I'm having a seniors moment for not remembering what the hell you're talking about or you are. Fin P.S. Took me a minute to remember, but the thought of a 70-something guy puttin' the blocks to anything somehow offends me... Not that there's anything wrong with that.. BTW Woodgrain I'll be down to Brighton for a few days towards the end of August, we should try to find a day to get a few together for a spin. Drif you in?

Eastern Ontario Roads
I was out in the Calabogie area on Saturday. Nice roads. Had a blast on Centenial Lake Rd. Are there any more roads like that? I'm starting to get used to 800km day trips so any suggestions would be great.
