Laugh taking V-stroms?

Woodstock area V-strom rider here, would like to hook up for day rides etc on good roads , gravel and some easy trails . I'v found some great gravel near Collingwood if your planning a ride that way, I'd be happy to share some route ideas. Add me to your list if non-german machines are allowed !

Laugh

The maps are out and the charger is hooked up on a more regular frequency, yes winter is still here but when I am asked to go skiing it does not seem that interesting anymore.
I am ready for some back road biking.......
We should all get together with our maps over a beer or something.

An all call for GTA GS riders

My buddy OntarioGS and I would like to put together a mailing list for all those who are interested in joining us on local dual-sport rides for big thumpers and other large displacement dual-sport bikes with 650 cc or larger.

If you're interested, I need you to email me directly, if you haven't done so previously, to: captive@rogers.com (Please do not PM me, it's too slow that way).

My buddy OntarioGS will be putting together a short survey to see what sort of riding you'd like to do. In the previous season, we rode around the backroads of the Peterborough / Uxbridge area. We stay mainly on gravel roads and pathways, some dirt roads, and avoid deep water crossings and major mud tracks. We ride off the paved roads at moderate speeds, with safety in mind. If this is of interest to you, please drop me a line, and we'll be in touch.

add me on there Motozen. Thx. see you in May. Had a seat on the K12S today and 12ST. both nice but no replacement for the 12GS. Two years, if still single, A K12S will be a stable-mate to the 12GS

James Bay?

I'm up for a James Bay scoot. Would prefer later rather than early as bugs might not be as heavy duty and les bete noir and tenting are highly incompatable? No? Maybe early August, Monday to Friday sort layout? Any thoughts?

I'm considerably north of the rest of you, but had a good ride Saturday.

How do you get to James Bay??

Looks like I'd have to go way Southeast, then north???

Cross into Quebec to Rouyn-Noranda, then head north on Hwy # 109 to Matagami, PQ. Continue on Hwy 109 to Radisson, PQ. There are a number of good websites and if you write the tourist bureau, they will send helpful information.

Add me as well, if you would.

I'm heading on toronto --> cali -->vancouver(??) --> calgary --> toronto, first week of may, for a couple of weeks ride.

If anyone want is heading that way, please le me know.
Any suggestions on route would be appreciated.

Just want to make sure I catch some parks in the "Grand Circle", but other wise, it's where the roads take me.

Thanks.

Hey there, Toronto riders. Just found this post and I thought I'd add my own comments to it.

I got my 1200GS a month ago, and will be taking off for a ride up to James Bay in 3 days (September already). The weekend I got the bike, I put 1,126km on it right away - and then the thing broke down in the shop of Downtown BMW (don't ever take your bike there, they wrecked my alarm, starter, and panniers, and delayed a simple tune-up by 3 whole weeks with their blunders).

So I just got it back last night, and within the next few days I'll add another 3,200km on it - and a huge grin on my face, hopefully!

nick, from Sc'arlem!

Thumb James Bay

I hope you will have a geat trip. I am also planning to go up there but I have some work and family obligations first so I do not expect to get going before mid September.
Sorry to hear about your experience with Dwntwn BMW, we seem to have nice bikes but not very reliable dealers.
I do think the mechanics at Open Road are doing a pretty good job, don't know about the rest of the gang though.
I will be vey interested to hear about your trip.
