Gift & Toy Ride in Sacramento, CA (03-Dec)

Last year, our local BMW club put on a Gift and Toy Run benefitting the Children's Receiving Home of Sacramento (California). It was a short ride and a small group, but was very satisfying for everyone who participated. This year, we're doing it again! In this case, it isn't about the ride, it's about the destination, but the more "elves" we have--the merrier!

The CRH is the only facility in Sacramento County that specifically provides emergency temporary shelter and care to children between the ages of 2 and 17 who have been abused, molested, neglected and abandoned. They are the ones who get the call in the middle of the night. With the rapidly growing population in this region, they're probably handling 25% more cases than they were a couple of years ago (probably over 2200 cases this year).

You can take a look at the CRH website here.

If you're interested in participating, we'll be leaving A&S BMW in Roseville, CA at 10:00 on Saturday. Clothes, gift cards, toys, and personal products (esp for the older kids) would be great ideas. Your contributions are also tax deductible!

Hope to see you there!

Are you the only ADV BMW rider in the Sacto area? or just the only one that will ride with a toy on your bike?
I'd join ya, I also have a 2001 F650, but even if I didn't I'm sure I would be welcome on any bike. That's the way it is on the toy run I'll be going on this Saturday.
Good luck with your run, hope you gather lot's of toys for the kids

There's actually a pretty good sized contingent in this area. Several of them are members of the local BMW club as well and will be joining the ride. Hopefully with this reminder, we might get a few additional folks as well. Like you and TongueLady ( ) have said--this is really a great cause!
