I dont know of a kit, but find this interesting. I just went the other way on my KLR. The handle bar setup was a pain, when pulling the carb and just in general, the cable setup was never right. The cable would push or pull or bind. I did the plunger on it and I am very happy I did. Something to think about.

Stainless Brake lines?

Can anyone recommend a source for a steel front brake line? Mine is a 2007 KLX250S and I can find Galfer part numbers for the newer gen but not the older. Maybe there are some other part numbers that will cross reference?

Should still be able to get them from Bill Blue. Got mine from him.

Finally pulled tank - yes very easy, though i didn't disconnect tubes. Had enough play to shift to side, changed plug - it was in tough shape, black with some corrosion around the screw portion. Put in a new one, and changed my snorkel to the KDX200. It now runs great again right up to 10,500 with no power blips. And backfires pretty good on decel, just like before. But I'm okay with this, preferred to the power bucking I was getting.

BTW - I'm in a fairly quiet neighborhood, moved in 3 years ago. Of 6 neighbors, to my wife's dismay, I think a 2nd is about to buy a KLX. First guy in 50s purchased 6 mos after I moved in, told his wife "look he has kids and has one, and i always wanted one." And the 2nd guy, also 50s w/family, has been watching me ride the loop trail I made in my back property... at first wasn't keen on it at all. But I kept riding time short (ie, noise levels reasonable) and he finally asked if he could give it try. Two rides and he's hooked. Getting his license and bike (thinking KLX) as we speak. He'd ridden my other neighbor's stock KLX, liked it. Tried my dad's with jetting and a pipe, liked that more. Soon will have him on the 351... plenty of range in a single bike. My wife says "if another neighbor joins the gang she's leaving..." but she gets a kick out of it too. Fun stuff, the KLX.

Skid Plates!

Online Retailer tells me that a Skid Plate from a KLX300 will fit the KLX250S. Is this true?

3 days, 850 miles later I'm home. Trans west Virginia trail was sweet. Wish I had more time, it goes to Maine. Here's a few pictures of the first day. Sunk my phone in a creek crossing, camera hasn't been the same since. .

Once I upload pictures from my new camera, purchased after the aforementioned creek, and get stuff e-mailed to me I'll make a ride report.

I don't think so ( I may be wrong). There are a few specifically for the KLX250s though

I got mine from this guy and am very happy with it, about the same price as your link. http://www.scorpionracing.ca/

Edit: Looks like its a few more bucks. I think I had a coupon code from someone. It is a beefy plate however.

Anybody tried one of these in the airbox?

http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/...Valve?term=tpi

I put one in the airbox on my XT 225 Yammie and it worked great if I went from sea level to over 9000'
TPI claims you can compensate for upto 2 jet sizes for change in elevation/temperature

That's why I'm farkling now - might as well do something in the shop that involves motorcycles than drive myself nutz.
I shattered my Tibia and broke my ankle back on March first. I now have some screws and a titanium rod. In the Atlanta area we have been soaked and when I crashed this past March it was the 2nd worse rain amounts of all time. Within 2.5 months I was riding street thanks to my doctor who did a great job and he told me about the Exogen which is an ultra sound device which made the bones heal 40% quicker, I spent every other day at the gym on a recumbent bike.
The crash is at the end of this video.

I have a brand new MT-21 and it has been doing well.
Think short term goals/milestones and you will heal quickly!
