as regards engine, did the gearbox main input bearing upgrade at about 10,000km (just in case). Did a leak down test before winter set in and was showing very little change from new!!! Nearly all off pavement use. Vaves have only needed minor adjustments. Cracker - Brilliant, hope it keeps going!

Merry Christmas Everyone

2004 SXC 1200mi. - No issues except for its tendancy to cartwheel when you get the double at the MX track all wrong.

The only repairs are from crash damage (one fender, the horn, two headlights, cracked bash plate). It did blow some fuses when I hit a river crossing at speed once - lost the indicators, horn and idiot lights on the speedo...

I'm sicka busting headlights so I'm gonna buy an aftermarket one tomorrow.

My 2001 640 LC4 has about 4,200 miles on it and no problems. I smile every time I ride it.

I'm temporarily here in the DC are and have been commuting on it! Several times people have asked, "What is that thing anyway?", "Is that like a Honda or something?"

I hit 10,000 miles yesterday on my 99 adventure. No engine troubles at all yet. I've got a few other self-induced issues to take care of now.

15,000 wonderful miles

Main shaft bearing self destructed at 8K
New clutch (fibers only)
Many, Many speedo cables-I think from doing too many wheelies
Engine started knocking at loadedpalooza-haven't torn into it yet.

I figure next year I'll double that...all things willing...
clutch cable. and I need new throttle cables and a battery wear items only.
not much else ever broke and I throw (it throws me) to the ground all the time.

16.000 km / 10000 miles / new from october 2004 / Duke II black

busted the right crank bearing at 10.500 km. The bike always sounds like a coffee grinder, like a LC4 should, but then it sounded like a Black & Decker on steroids

33.000 km / 20.500 miles / new from july 2000, stolen in august 2003 / Duke II lime

No trouble, just had to swap the bottom piston ring at 31.000 kilometres, since my oil level was too low. Damn those oil stick thermometres that have no level indicator...

lc4 mileage

Love the bikes - 03 ADV model with 13,500 miles, of which I logged all but about 2K. These miles were all logged last year. Only problem was an electrical short that I was able to diagnose (loose wire)

01 LC4E - model, total 8,000 miles of which my brother and I logged 3,000 miles without any troubles at all.

A couple of SXC models - 4,000 miles were logged last summer. Sold these bikes as I prefer the E model with it's longer maintenace schedule.

So a total of approximately 18,500 miles logged last year on the LC4's with no problems to speak of.
