cYCOACTIVE/gARMIN v

I need to get a power cord for my Garmin V to harwire it to the F650GS.

It looks like Cycoactive has a good one, but their site says it was updated in 2007. Are they still around?

Also, are there other sources I should look at to wire this thing up? Is the Garmin plug common?

I bought the GV used a couple of years ago, and never really used it- I want to try it out before buying a new GPS.

They are alive and well in Seattle. More or less the same people who import TouraTech to the US. New digs about 2 years ago. They probably have more experience with GPS + MC as anyone in the US. Good people and good products. Also known as TouraTech USA.

The cord is the same across a lot of the earlier units. Most any online vendor will have them. Gander Mtn and Dick's used to have them in the stores.

gpscity.com, getfeetwet.com, tvnav.com all are good sources

The plug is a proprietary design by Garmin, but you can obtain a true copy of it for a pledge from pfranc.com ... which is what I recommend.

Just for the record, the plug is a bit "touchy" to solder since it is pretty tight in there ... if you're not comfortable with that, get the plug-with-cable , pfranc part number dDP0. List price in the USA is $ 9.99 (now try that with a Garmin cable!). When you order from pfranc Oregon, say hello to Larry :-)

Cycocactive are great guys. Same hardwire kit fits III, V, 60, & 76. Make sure you strap down wires near battery. I have broken two of the (+) lugs at the battery due to vibration of he heavy fuse blocki wire.
