Santa Barbara???

I am going to end up in Buellton, CA for work on Feb 2nd and 3rd, and was thinking that if I could find a local up in that neck of the woods that was looking for a riding partner, I would drag my bike up with me and make good on the weekend... Any body in that area want to show a noob a good time???

I will be on my R1150GSAdv, could do an overnighter, or leave the gear off and do 1 or 2 day rides.

Hi Jake,

Maybe we could get some people together and ride Sierra Madre road. I think that's up in that area. I may be able to do an overnighter, but if not I could just ride up for the day.

Could definitely be done. There are some decent rides in the area, both on and off-road. As Errin said, Sierra Madre road is in the area and offers up 30 miles of dirt up to about 5000ft. Weather may play a factor with the dirt but even in all goes to mud, there are some nice asphalt rides around!

Looked you were picking up the pig in one of the pics from Saturday. Are you ok? Nothing big I hope.

I'm sure that if I was following you I'd have some keeping up to do myself. Someday I'll be as good with the pig in the dirt as you.

I stopped to wait for the rest of the crew to catch up. I was sitting there with the motor off, listening for the sounds of the other bikes and figured I had time to get me sunglasses out... well, I reached around to my bag and los my balance... I felt it start to go, knew I couldn't stop it and just steped away... I am not sure that any dirt even stuck to the valve cover

. No nothiing or me was hurt...

Takes off from Hwy 166 at Rock Front Ranch parallels the highway up on the ridge, comes back down at via Bates Cyn Road and Cottonwood Cyn Road west of New Cuyama. Also accessible via Colson Canyon/LaBrea Cyn/Miranda Pine roads.

Walt and Erin have already suggested the good stuff above. I think I'm already spoken for that weekend but bump this thread up as it gets closer. Sierra Madre is ok if there hasn't been any rain for a week or so but watch Carrizo Plain area if it's been wet. Walt can tell you more I'm sure. Check out the web site in his sig
