for those who went last year

Any suggestions on parking near the center?

Maybe easier to just take the metro in from Springfield - since it's on our way into town............

There is plenty of parking in the general area, but you'll pay for it. Metro offers the least hassle. The Chinatown station is very close to Fado and RFD, and the convention center is a short walk further up the hill.

The wife and I went last year and had a good time. We drove down early in the AM, stopped short of DC and got on the Metro, did the show then drove home. 4 hours drive each way plus the time at the show and a speed walk to the WWII memorial made for a very long day. My wife STRONGLY suggested that we stay over night this year. We may spend two nights, drive down Friday, show Saturday and do some sight seeing on Sunday. If you don't mind a Buell owner tagging along we could meet at RFD. I like beer!

Any prefeerance on where to stay? The past several times we were down we stayed in Arlington.

Nice place for a weekend away with wifey~ Not too far from the Convention center, either.

Another hotel to look at is: http://www.jurys.com/usa/washington_hotel.htm

We often recommend this place to family and friends and have yet to hear a complaint.

Right on Dupont Circle if you like to be around people. Metro is close too.

That's cool. Call me and we can meet up somewhere. I got the cast off yesterday! No HP2 yet.
