Another 620 checking in.

7864 lives in St. Louis, MO.

It's a '97 that I got new from a dealer in Idaho and had shipped here in '98.

I'm in! 1998 - vin 8953

Just bagged a SUPER clean stock 1998 620 Rally Adventure / or EG/S - not sure what its called as the info I find seems vague

Vin 8953

It is Euro import (I think) with lo pipes and the KTM factory made stainless mufflers.

If anyone can give any info on this bike would be awesome!

Parts

Looking for 2 into one 640 high pipes....will the 640 pipe fit the 620 with new flanges?

Also need crash bars and muffler side (left) side cover in orange

Will an earlier tall centerstand fit this 1998 620

Do I need to change out sub frame?

Want to remove the secondary air system....any tips?

Thanks!

To change the exhaust, you'll need a new subframe, new plastics, new headpipe and new muffler. At that point, it won't be original anymore and you'll have destroyed another one.

I believe the centerstand will fit because it uses the same mounts that the stock exhaust uses right now.

I don't know of any secondary air system. Has your engine been swapped? Post some pictures of the bike.

Thanks, but

The low pipes won't make it for my riding. 1. Bashing 2. Power...they are perfect if anyone wants to buy them.

Only need a 2000 640 left side panel and an SX sub frame, 2000 640 header and rear fender

Found crash bars at advmotorad.com

I suck at adding pix! Got a link?

So you're going to take off everything that makes it unique, turn it into a bastard, beat the shit out of it, THEN discover that it's still 380 pounds and not really a dirtbike. When you bash the tank or mask you'll discover that a minor crash could cost more than you paid for the bike. In frustration, youll list it in the flea market for $4000 because you want all your money back. When that fails, you'll part it out on eBay. Have I missed anything?

Leave it alone and enjoy it for what it is or sell it.

Somebody is sure making a lot of assumptions. Don't want to get into pissing match with some one so negatively optionated. You don't know Jack about me or my bikes. Merry F'ing Christmas, Grinch. :

I know that the list on the first page of this thread represents just about every one of them in the country. The low-pipe model is the closest thing you'll ever see to a genuine Dakar replica. Your profile says you already have a KTM 625 so you don't need another LC4 to beat on. Your bike is original once. When you start taking off parts and casting them to the wind, the history of that one is done. Do what you want. It's your bike to destroy.

I'm with the Donkey on this one; it would be sad to see another one lost. :(

Just picked up a 1998 620 with original low pipes and under 1000 miles on it. I'M STOKED!

VIN is 8851

I'm planning on riding the Mexican 1000 on it come April so there is much to do to get this bike prepped. The plan is to ride it, not race it. While it will be subject to some abuse I hope for this bike to serve its intended purpose - to be ridden. I have no intention of putting high pipes on it (although i've got a full set laying around), although the previous owner strapped on a two-brother's muffler with a higher angle out the back. I'll probably leave this for the weight reduction, and that it a bit more out of the way on the rear. Need to find a way to make it quieter though, the decibel level sets off car alarms when idling.

Just loaded it up. Look how clean she is! Even has the original metzler treads.

At home in the stable with my '94 LC4:
