Question RID cost?

Does anyone know what a new RID (fuel and temp) costs for the 1150 GS?

Thanks- Scary Mc

It might not cost anything...That dadgum bit ought to be covered under you warranty...

Unless, of course, you buggered it up (aussie for damaged) testing Principles of Physics...

In which case we'd like a detail or two......

The RID shows my bike running too hot. I have replaced the thermostat, and the oil temp sensor to no avail. the RID is still reading hot! The next step is to replace the fucking thing, but the dealer is not so convinced. They say they think the bike is fine. Seven bars in 60 degree weather is not fine. Still they refuse to cover it under warranty.
I'm headed down south in two weeks and I want the bike running properly.

FUCK THE DEALER!!! AAAAAAHHHHHAAAAAHHHH!!!!

That's wrong. You should be running 5 bars.

Assholes. Ask them to show you another GS that routinely runs 7 bars in 60F weather.

is she cute?

Don't pay to replace that part, since it should be covered under warranty. Are there any other dealers you can talk to around there?

If all else fails, treat your dealer with a nice big New Years Eve flaming shitbag (aka FSB).

I have an appt. next Thursday with the Austin dealer (an hour to the Northeast). They are going to replace my front brake line. I'll bug them about the RID problem and see what they say...

Cool. You might want to call ahead of time and tell your saga to the svc mgr. They might not have a RID in stock, so you want to give them time to get one. Good luck, mang.

ps. don't underestimate the psychological benefits of tossing a good-sized FSB.
