XR650L lowering

i have a new to me '01 XR650L that i need to lower. before i brought it home i thought i could get a lowering link to pull it down about 1.5" or so which would about do it for me. however i have found out that all the sources i have checked with offer lowering links for the 650L only for '03 and newer. anybody know anything that could help ??

Others will correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the XR650L has changed any from 1994. Certainly older and newer parts fit on my 1999. The only differences are the colors of the plastic parts.

I belive that is correct no changes.
If it helps my XR used to be lowered with a eibach rear spring 2" and white brothers fork kit also 2" worked real good.

Check out Devol Engineering. I put one of their lowering links on the 650L when it was new and it made a huge difference for my 30" legs.

It changed the way the bike felt to me,not too bad but i did lose some ground clearence. I shaved the seat and accomplished the same height result without losing suspension. Worked better for me.
