I had a girlfriend like that once. She didn't last too long.

The newer RA 2 is a lot different from the old RA. Different tread pattern, different rubber composition, etc.

- The new CTA has the same properties as the "Z". However it's said to be "better in the wet", usually indicating a higher silica content. Could lead to faster wear than the normal variant.

I had the "Z" on my F650GS thumper and it was an absolute joy to ride.

Hope that was some useful info ;)
Thanks Cloud. Good info.

I'm not sure if the "old" CTA is still available, only the new CTA 2, so I guess I'll be getting the "good one".

Touch up paint https://touchupdirect.com/

I had to order some for my burnt orange NTX. I ordered bar risers from Twisted Throttle back in the fall and just got around to putting them on...problem is they don't clear the gas tank on the 2012 NTX. I see Twisted Throttle doesn't even list them anymore...now what do I do with them?

You know RRVT people just can't seem to understand about the Stelvio. I have a 2001 Dakar with knobbies etc. The Stelvio kicks its ass off road. I think it is a combination of "sitting more into the bike" and the low COG.

It actually was a breeze as long as you kept your concentration and didn't do too much gawking. Rode pretty smooth though it did look to be shaking the bejeebers out of the cars and pickups that dared the route:)
I never tired blasting by them:)

Now if I fell over....

If you blow it up you can see the trail winding off into the west toward Phoenix.

It ends up here at a dam.

Then you head along toward the north along Lake Roosevelt. First you cross this bridge

There were a lot of single lane bridges

Some of the good road

I am thinking the Lava black isn't paint at all, its the actual resin color. It doesn't appear like paint to me. Same for faring.

Correct. It's primer: you want paint, that's extra...
but you do get to pick any colour you like. Or 'color' if you talk funny and wear strange trousers....

Great pix Ham: fantastic scenery you have - and decent riding weather too, by the looks of it.
I just wish the dirt roads around here were that good!

Gents,

it's a new season, I have a new bike (that I still can't down my drive in MI) and want to check if I have enough gents who want a rear rack:

Need about 4 to 5 to keep the price near $100 tab bend direction your choice. SS hardware included.
Any other suggested projects or needs?

I draft this too deep into a bottle of makers at a beach bar on south padre island...had to ride the KTM

lowered the seat and exposed the rub marks on the tank cover piece, huh?

I noticed a couple of spots when I had the seat off to unhook my pigtails the other day

That's a great road, it's been a number of years since I was last on the Apache Trail...
We bike-camped out at Tortilla Flats, and at the crack of dawn we heard sportbike engines wailing in the hills - people were taking their track bikes out on the paved portion before the dirt.

It's paint? Well, now I know... didn't seem like paint to the eye... My tank and front faring is being replaced by Piaggio. Apparently the marks I have on the bike were in the " paint " finish. I was surprised Piaggio gave the go ahead to the dealer without any fuss... but while no parts are in the US they said they will send the dealer replacements. Maybe the dealer can sell me the old parts? I would like to custom paint them if I can get them?

My shortness is a bit enhanced with the seat down. I took off the peg rubbers also to lower them. I fit nicely now but will keep experimenting.

Now for the sacrilege. A little Harley black touch up and it looks brandy new again. Why do I still have Harley shit around.
