You will have a better chance of finding riders at dcsportbikes.com. And yes, I'm serious. Some of those guys ride pretty often.

Also, post up on dcsportbikes.net, there are some that ride in all temps.

Good luck

Friday I'm riding to work. Saturday's I don't ride, because that's when the real riders at dcsquidbikes are out.

Route or destination ideas?

I'm in for Friday. Are the DRZ's the chosen weapon? or should we do the strom and the 950

I'll need to get an Inspection for the DRZ this week but that should not be a big deal.

[quote=iDave]Let's ride DRZ's Friday. A combination of twisties and fire roads would be nice. Maybe we can meet at the coffee shop in Marshall (about halfway for you and I) before embarking on the ride. I can show you some of the kickass roads I've been riding lately.

Cool. Remind me which little town off 50 is Marshall and this coffee shop of which you speak. I know a cool little road for me to ride to get there. Sounds like fun...

Did you get the Ducati back? Wanna ride Sunday?
No and yes. The part is in, I'm gonna' tell them to finish it this week. I will ride with you if it's warm enough (I'm a girl) and I got the bike back. I'm dying to ride. You need to put a few miles on the Strada... really. You do.

I'll burn up the slicks (241 lbs, that will take a while, no?) then put regular street tires on.

Judging by the seat on that DRZ that iDave guy must have a, er, um, large posterior!
What is that thang??
Wish I could ride, my son stuffed his R6 into the front of a truck (left turner truck - broken left leg, arm - radius, ulna and humerus in several places, hand) Monday 9th, trying to get him home from U.Va. so he can join my wife who's recovering from a ruptured brain aneurism. I've ridden my new-to-me GS exactly twice. AARRRRRRGGGGHHHH.

Thanks Steve. My wife is recovering very well and is damned lucky to be alive. My son is really hurting but has come through 2 surgeries this week in pretty good shape. Plan is for him to come here for 8 weeks to recover (he's 26, normally lives in Harrisonburg) since he's going to be confined to a wheelchair for a while.
What can I say? I'm glad they are both still here and have a chance to get back to health - could be a lot worse in both cases.
I'll get some riding in later.
Ted

I'm definetely looking forward to Friday's ride. Let's meet at the coffee shop at 10AM, have a cup of java, then enjoy some local roads
I still have the deathwings on my drz. I have the feeling your SM is going to run circles around my S.

The 1150gs is still in peices, so I'll be on the xr650. I am ashamed to say that I need to drive the bike down in the back of my truck. I have a killer dirt route I have been dying to do for a while now just past Broadway Va. Let me know where and when you want to meet.
