The first thing...

The first thing is tires. It has bridgestones, probably original. Has anybody tried the metzeler enduro 3 saharas? They look super gnarly and may lend some immediate offroad credibilty, maybe not. What about handguards, engine guards and the like?

You may as well tell us all about the sidecar now in excruciating detail and save us the trouble of asking a million questions, which we will....

And include pics of how / where it's attached, etc etc.

Out with it! Give us the details! Or at least a linky to where the story is told.

Dang...those tires look pretty sweet!

I have the OEM hand guards and they do fine as a light brush guard and as weather protection. Look at Acerbis for something a little more heavy duty.

Engine guard suggestions are as varied and common as people. I personally use the Pat Walsh system and really really like it. I get lots of compliments. http://www.patwalshdesigns.com/guard.html

Here is what it looks like on the bike:

your bike

Your bike looks awesome. The engine crash guards are very nice, what about the black travel cases? Haven't seen too many like that. Thanks for any advice, BTW.

Thanks! I happen to like it very much.

The cases are just 35mm ammo cans I bought at a surplus store for 35 bucks CDN each. Mounted using GIVI PL series brackets...works quite well. Sandblasted 'em, painted 'em black and away we go.

Canadians!

I have backpacked around the world
with Canadians and they are so resourceful. That's a great idea with the ammo boxes.

I was running a Metzler Enduro 3 Sahara one the rear when I first got the bike. It IS a knarly looking tire and a little noisy on the road. I was commuting and doing more highway riding at the time. It didn't last long..its definately more of an off road tire....

Sweet. I don't know that I'd ever go that route but I love seeing those things come together! Thanks for the link..

No probs Joey, thanks for reading. I'll post some more pics when I get the passenger body on.

Fitted the peg lowering kit and fork brace from Rick Hughes. Cant really feel the difference with the brace, but I dont ride that ragged, so probably wont notice any difference.
The peg lowering kit helps the knee bend a fair bit. All good at the moment. Getting 1st service done this week, and looking at fitting fat tapered bars as well. Need something straighter as had a broken wrist years ago that gives me some grief.

Did a 300klm run today. This bike just gets better and better

What did you do about adjusting the position of your brake pedal and shift lever? I've got a set of those peg lowering brackets I never installed because it looked like changing the brake pedal in particular would be a serious pain in the ass... Maybe an explanation and a pic or two if you had the chance?
