I just "re-purchased" my '04 DL1000. Sold it to a local rider about a year ago thinking that my ST 1300A was all I needed. But I never stopped thinking about that bike and lo and behold I bought it back about 3 weeks ago. It is perfect for blasting around town, running errands and day trips. It always puts a smile on my face. Now to add some farkles and rack up some miles...

Something that can be used comfortably on long superslab rides, but also isn't a bucket that you can't get out of when you need to stand and shift weight on a rocky trail? Something that looks like it came off an orange bike?
I find my month old Vee has a much more comfortable seat than I had on the GS12.

I took mine on a week long 3k ride this summer and had no problem doing 600 miles in a day.

I've put over 7 now since I bought it in May and still no problems with the seat.

I do have problems with wind though. My legs seem to funnel the wind up my chest and into my helmet. I ride in the rain and find water flying UP into my helmet.

That's not "rash". That's character.

Welcome to the club!

03 Dl1000

Just found this thread... picked up a slightly used 03 DL1000 about a month ago. Some friends want to ride to AK and back next year so I needed a bike. It's my first "street" bike since my 1985 XL250R. It needs a little TBS which will get done as soon as I have time, but first, RIDE!

Headed out for my first non-commute tomorrow with some buddies. Hopefully pictures will follow...

Bought a black K8 650 a couple of weeks ago even though the season is pretty much gone up here. I've been enjoying having a bike again after a nearly 28 year gap. Looking forward to picking up stuff over the winter for trips in 2010. Found this site through my MSF class instructors who dinged each other's bike (Kawasaki and BMW). Being brother-in-laws helped too. Anyways, it'll be fun to have a bike that works the street well and is capable of a little dirt too.

Thinking seriously about a Strom myself. I never ride trails anymore and I want something more road worthy I think with a dirt road thrown in every now and then. My 950 is cool and I may be really sad, but I think I would get more use out of the V. There are some really great pics here and I have a bug for one of these. It could happen!

Guys I have a unique opportunity to swap my 09 Tenere for a 06 Kawasaki KLV 1000. The bike is in mint condition, and it looks gorgeous in orange!
The Tenere is more and more underpowered for me and my girlfriend since we constantly load it with 200Kg or little more.

My question is: what are the differences between DL 1000 and KLV 1000? Parts for DL do fit on KLV? Thanks!
