For some reason it is a bit short but it's on there and no I can't tell the difference between the OE hose and the braided hose.
It sounds like your comparing from two different bikes, I bet if you switched to a braided hose on your XRL without changing any other perimeters you would notice a difference.

In looking at where and how I ride my bike and being a cheap bastard(tm) I want a hooks up like glue and wears like iron set of tires. I ride mostly gravel roads so will be putting a Pireilli MT 21 on the front. Normally I'd put the matching MT 21 on the rear but this time I want to try the MT 43 DOT trials tire. Anybody tried the MT 43? the reviews are great and they say they last 3000 miles or 3 times what I get out of a MT 21.

Might work well on gravel roads.a Kenda K270 is good on gravel and pavement.....wears really well......but sucks in mud....i get less than a 1000 miles out of D606`s and the MT21 is probably the same.....i get 3000+ easily out of the K270 and i ride hard,,wheelie at every stop sign kinda nuts the K270 is a little squirrelly on corners when new i`ve heard,,i don`t find it bad at all

If you ride sanely you`ll easily pass 3k on a K270...

Oh,nothing hooks up like glue on gravel,,,the shits too loose and flies with any throttle..

I've heard the trials tires are good in sand and mud but wear out quick on harder surfaces due to being made of a softer compound. I've seen then in Central OR. Gravel can be the most evil surface to ride on so I'd lean to more aggressive than less. If you're not worried about a DOT stamp, try the Maxxis Desert IT (not the standard IT). It wears like iron and hooks up really well on just about any surface and is tough in rocky stuff. Plus they won't break the bank. However, getting them off when they're done is "challenging"

Agree with others and Spud sez the MT 43 was a big disapointment as far as wear goes.
The best combo I have found is the Dunlop 908RR rear and Metzler Unicross front. I got 7171 miles outa the 908 and the Unicross does not wobble even at 90 MPH. Cost more, yes, last twice as long though.
The 908's strong suite was sand but was way smooth on the highway.

very true! says right on my drivers license "Organ Donor". though i dont push beyond my skill level when im not wearing gear. (which i actually always do wear my helmet and gloves when i ride) but a wheelie in front of my house at 10mph at my youth where skin and bones heal a lot faster for me, I wasn't to worried about a helmet and goggles and gloves and boots and chest protector and reflective vest and knee pads etc, etc, etc, etc
