Walter, thanks for the banjo bolt info. can't believe you beat Steve to the punch.
Hey Steve has to eat sleep and work too. He can't spend all his time monitoring this thread.

hey everybody,

im about to do daves mods and would like to know what others have changed to improve it. ive read about drilling the slide to different sizes and would like to know what the benefit to that would be. i have a dynojet kit too (not real happy with it), so should i use the dj spring too? i would like the best low to mid power gain and better throttle response. i want to keep the stock exhaust, and upgrade to an aftermarket filter so my next question is what filter are you most happy with? what would offer the best filtration? i ride alot of dirt roads and usually end up behind a horse trailer or something .
also, how big a difference was the power and gas mileage compared to stock? the bike seems a little boggy when trying to get the front off the ground (i dont really have another bike to compare it to so maybe its just me) but can get over 60mpgs when im easy on it. what can i do to improve power along with the mods with out sacrificing mpgs? its a daily commuter to work at about 50 miles round trip.

thanks,
MO.

Matt,

Your post was at 9:50 pm. I was sound asleep seeing as I get up at 4am. I'll get it next time for sure.

Sh!t Happens

That just shows we're all human (part omission). Realizing this, when I'm working, I make it a point to tell my buddies that my ADD doesn't permit them to be present when I really need to focus. Next, I gather everything for each section and when possible review the manual, dry running the process. Lastly, after each sub-assembly project, I stop and clean-up my work area, regrouping and looking for left overs. Even with all of this, I still end up with mystery pieces. I've got boxes of them.

Here's mine. I planned to replace the clutch discs and cable this morning. Box has been sitting here unopened since Wednesday. When I opened it I had a new cable and ONE disc!!! I guess I didn't update the quantity when I ordered and it never occurred to me when I checked out that the price was really good. DAMN!!!! By the way Ron Ayers had the best price on these. 12.72 compared to 14.18 at CCP. Shipping was less at CCP but total was $10 less at RA. Pays to check around.

John

Pandora's Box

I'll post some pics and explanation when I'm done, but it is amazing how much has to be done to make an airbox functional after being modified for a pod filter and relocate electronics back to OEM....
