Yeah. I should have had those on my KTM 625 SMC. My son went down on it and the insurance sure didn't enjoy paying out the $1200.00 for the one scratched Akrapovic muffler seeing as how they are sold only as a pair.

Does anyone have a California model non-locking gas cap for a stock tank for sale by chance?

The best and cheapest way is to go on Amazon, Ebay, or Craigslist and grab a car charger for the Ipod. Then take and hard wire it into the bike. That way there is no chances of it losing connection over time due to vibrations. Over time the connections on my 12v plug broke apart due to vibrations. Also make sure that you include the circuit board in the system otherwise it will recognize its plugged in, but will not actually charge. These smart phones are getting to be too smart, don't ask how I know this.

There is a reason Steve put this. California or not, the above is still true.......... Its a completely different type of "locking" mechanism.

Thanks again for the tire input guys. I'm leaning toward the K270's at this point.

The California model has a vented nub in the middle, does it not?

That's what I'm looking for, is a vented cap.

The link I sent in ebay had a stock tank with vented cap.

Anyone know if the stock front forks can be drained by removing the "fork center bolt" at the bottom of the fork? Don't really want to tear the forks apart to change the fork oil. Got a plan to suck new fluid into the forks with a vacuum tool. TIA

The 49 state locking cap is vented also. The vent is just hidden for cosmetic purposes.
