Good news Barron. What kind of reading were you getting on the coil? I'm just having a hard time accepting that my coil is bad even though the reading is very high. It was running on Sunday. I'm missing something simple I can feel it. Haven't tried Brian's suggestion with the light yet.

Mine reads .6 to .8 instead of the .19 to .23

FWIW, make sure the ground wire is attached to the starter... had that one get me once, the bike would run just fine then all of a sudden it would just stop. Luckily for me I didn't have a garage and it was getting dark out so I saw the spark It seems that the ground wire would sometimes make just enough contact sitting on the block to run but in the wrong position it would die. I was even pulling wheelies with no problems trying to figure it out

Where's Waldo? I mean the washer. That was MendoMatt that had the washer issue IIRC.

That's the reading I'm getting on mine too. Headed out to the garage right now to try again.

doesn't the repair manual show different from the actual bike, maybe tear dependent?

My engine won't even turn over. All I get is a click.
EITHER.........

(1) your ground under the seat has paint on it and you need a better ground there..

OR

(2) your ground wire running to the starter is disconnected,missing,etc..

I picked up a BRP moto chain guide while I was in CO springs a few weeks ago. Went to mount it up earlier this week, and the rear of the guide was colliding with the sprocket. 45T.

Part # on the guide, matches the website, and confirmed by phone talking to Mike, (CGD-7059-B)

Were B is the color designator I'm told.

Anyone have any comments on this?

I know the set it on fire feeling!

good luck

John.........do you have an extra PG generator???????????? unplug the one on the bike.......plug the new on in......wave a chisel in front of the magnetic pole on that PG with the key on in neutral with a plug in the spark plug coil cap........facing towards you,,does it fire?????????? if so you have a f`ed PG gen ........orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr there is another possibility i`ve seen,,once..............after a rebuild,,,a guy put the tone ring (piece on the crank end that triggers the PG)...ON BACKWARDS..if you installed that piece on reversed it WILL not trigger the PG in you engine...just saying,,shit happens

Brian I get no flash. I raised the boots and left the wires connected. Connected the alligator clamp to black side and touched probe to green side. Crank bike and no light. Shouldn't I be getting 12v to those two terminals causing the light to flash? Or am I way off base here?

I've done all the tests in the book and they all come out good except the coil. Got both terminals at the clutch lever grounded just in case. I'm really at a loss. I hate electrical gremlins.
