Those headlights make me miss my Buell.
Thanks! The tach is definetely cheap entertainment. Like I said its really to keep me from running 45-55 in the wrong gear. With the pumper FCRMX carb the bike will pull a hill 45mph 3000 rpm in fifth gear, so its when I'm not focused on that when I need it. The tach is an AutoMeter ProCycle tach model #19300 built for a 1 or 2 cylinder motorcycle engine. I could have bought a different one but this is a good brand and its built for Harley's mostly. Plus its 3 3/4" so its easy to read and the back lighting is good quality at night.

Here's a closer look from a few months ago.

Wiring is simple, 1) switched power, 2) coil, 3) ground 4) switched lights.

[QUOTE=super samurai;20116002]So, got to test out my heated grips today. Worked killer on the way out, about a 18 mile ride. Rode around the woods all day and went to ride home and noticed one wire had come off the throttle grip. Dang i said.
So one hand was warm and the other was cold. They do work great when they do work.
Guess i should be able to solder it back?

You can solder the wires back. I've done it and it held much better than the factory solder.

Rear suspension is probably stiff enough to prevent that.

several had commented/liked the bars i put on (easton exp, 1 3/8"), and motosport was out of them for a while or at least out of the mounts. they appear to be back in stock and on sale for $30!!! best bars i've owned. they've taken a beating and never bent. and they look like they are made for the xr650l. i don't think they have the hand guard mounts though. linkey link.

Okay... now I'm confused. So there's a separate switch at the kick-stand, but by grounding the two wires at the clutch it disables both the clutch switch AND the kick-stand switch?
There are separate switches at all the safeties but as far as Ive been told and read here numerous times, yes it disables ALL safeties...

See the two female connectors in the background(still plugged in), in between the bypass wire I'm holding in my hand? That's the two you want to connect together, or to something like I made. I ran the other end to the main ground terminal(bolt) under the seat.

I only used it once to diagnose a problem and have since removed it...but I keep it handy just in case!

I agree! The winter weather here would suggest that I should put it up and farkle for the next few months, but I'm commuting with it every day!

I agree with you. I have done just about every farkel I have wanted to do on the bike. But mine looks very used and beat up. At the end of the this desert riding season I will make her look better. Repaint the frame and get some excel black rims.( I have always wanted black wheels on this bike.) Keep the pictures coming boys.
