I wish I could find that video! That guy made a lot of great posts! Did he post in this thread, or the XR600R thread?

Damn you guys been busy today! You can always tell when winter really sets in and people get cabin fever. You guys need a basket case bike to keep you busy scratching your head.

Got my oil cooler done. Have not ran it yet. I chose to do my own set up using the same cooler spud did. Cost me a total of $47.00
I didnt like having to cut my fender and space my fender.
We will see how it works.
Should i start my own pic thread or put my pics in your cooler thread spud?

Do either, or both, SS. I'm eager to see more photos! If you decide to start a new thread, please post a link in this thread.

Yes do so. Also include where you got the parts. I have been doing 500 mile weekend rides lately. A oil cooler might come in handy.

Why would the engineers (smart guys with sick math skills, thick glasses and shit) who designed the engine make it very clear in the owner's manual that you check the oil opposite to what you suggest? Perhaps (just maybe...) they figured all of the shit that you have been bickering about into the equation when they etched the line on the friggin dipstick. Dunno... just my guess.

The whole thing was about bikes with leakdown thru the oil pump when off. How many of these things have died an oil starved death?

[QUOTE=Jeathrow Bowdean;20623257]4 stroke .com From Super Dave.

On a typical XRL some oil is splashing about in the reservoir when the engine is running, if not splashing right out the hole.

I run the engine to operating temp (not idling- riding around, achieving some revs), shut the bike off, hold it upright/vertical, remove dipstick, wipe, insert w/o threading in, and I don't trust any reading 20 seconds after shutting the engine off.
