That sure sounds like what I've been running for a long time, in it's second bike now.
Curious what you didn't like about the HRC clone?

I gave the bike a proper trail flogging this afternoon. The lightened flywheel is noticeable on the trail. The bike still chugs like a John Deere, but it also wakes up quicker when you twist the grip. Film at eleven.

Stock and the diet version (8 pounds vs. 7 pounds)

Butt dyno says... meh. Not that big of a deal. The bike is a bit friskier 1st through 3rd, but not a big difference. I am curious to see how it does in the dirt. More to follow. For the price of admission though (I got the flywheel for a song on eBay and a friend took care of the lathe work... maybe $30 total with a new gasket), it was worth doing... I needed to know, now I do

My flywheel is still 2 pounds heavier than an XR600R flywheel... there is a LOT more chub that could be carved off. A more aggressive treatment would likely yield stronger results.

At the end of the day, the bike is one pound lighter A good dose of fiber will yield the same result though

You could try soda blasting. I cleaned some stubborn plasti dip coating off some plastic parts recently that way.

Kickstand swappage

Does anyone know if a lightweight, aluminum kickstand exists for direct swap out? any links? Looking to view the weight difference and specs. I cant find the little info regarding a Yamaha conversion. Thanks

Will there be more info on this while we're young?
