clutch cable

I'm putting on 2" risers and cr high bend bars...I guess I'll probably need at least 2" more of clutch cable.

What's the stock length? Will I need to get longer choke and throttle cables, or will the stock ones work?

Recommendations for good cables?

Thanks!

Mechanism unknown, but when they switched to 10% ethanol in CT, even properly jetted I was hard-pressed to get the pig to start on the phizz in the bowl if the bike had sat for a few days.

I went from shutting off the gas after parking to shutting it off just before getting home, much better.

I think the choke cable is fine. Motion pro will hook you up with teh longer cables if you need them

What is the best tool for removing (and obviously re-installing) of valve guides?

I need to install fresh seals and guides, but I'm a bit stumped on removal of the guides.

(applies to 07 XR650L)
Just curious as to why not just do the seals? Guides usually last a long time or am I wrong here?

+1 I have 2 inch rox risers with CR high bends and I was running the stock cables for quite awhile. I ran in to issues when the bars were turned hard right that I would lose all the play on the clutch. I went with a 2 inch longer cable from motion pro - Motion Pro 02-0223 Terminator Gray Clutch Cable. Have no idea whey it says gray as the casing's black

My 02 which was owned by a very hard rider went through two sets in a lil over 10k miles.. All depends on how hard you ride and how much you like to do 5 mile wheelies

How ya'll doing. Lurked on the thread for a while and I am planning on picking up on an XR650L My beloved XL is getting the "gremlins' from being 30 years old ,I've spent too much money on it and im starting to feel it. It ran excellent the day I bought it up until a few weeks ago. long story short, old reliable has become ole piece of crap

As much as it pains me to ask, the question is new or used? I can do all the maintenance myself, tires, valves, brakes etc.

Sure, but, I have to ask, are you over the " used helmet paranoia" thing? The last time I sold you a helmet the result was a disinfectant soap shortage in your area.

It's called " less emissions" .
I'll tell ya, something is up with this planet.
Get this, here it is MAY 5th and it was 42 DF here in HOUSTON, TEXAS.
That's NEVER happened.
I've lived here all my life and never seen this low temp. this later in the year.
