What's the worst gas mileage you have gotten out of your XR650L?

My apologies. I'd never heard of a Username being case sensitive, although I expect it from a password.

22 to 25 mpg running into the wind with jets that were too large.
The big jets avg. 32 with a range of 28 to 36 MPG
Back with the OEM jets I get 35 to 40 mpg.

+1, if your idle jet is a bit fat it may be a little hard to start when it's warm as it will be a bit rich. I went to the top of Mount Evans with out issue.

Attention Carb Experts

I was adjusting the carb on my XR650L this weekend and noticed that the pics in the manual didn't look like the carb on my bike.

Turns out the PO installed a Mikuni flat slide carb (TM40 I think). I've got it close to running right but I've got a couple questions.

1) Is this a "good" carb for the big red pig?
2)What size jets should this be running with K&N filter and stock pipe?

THANKS!

Wife wasn't digg'n the cameras. But we've gone our own ways.

I've got one of these

It's at http://www.roviorob.com username: user password: user. It's not on often because it's in my house. The dogs used to freak out with it.

RZ Rob

The dogs loved it though
