99% of the time around here these kind of jobs are inspired by meth."tweeker bikes" and they have been traded a dozen times and stolen at least twice.

Under load fully warmed up to running temp O2 sensor shows my 175mj close to perfect, just on the rich side of that, pilot circuit perfect ncvt needle at mid setting lean. Might want to try a richer needle. You would never know its lean from the seat of the pants as it runs with no noticeable issues.

Top left is an elephant, top right is a maize cob and bottom somewhere is a mining headgear. The car plates have a sunflower on it too (see the image link below). The provinces normally display items that represent the major economic activity or representative "icon" of that particular province. The "NW" is Northwest province where I farmed previously. Major economic drivers there are platinum and chrome mining (headgear), game ranching and tourism (elephant) and crop farming, especially maize and sunflower. https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/i...dN8RmsKOBvsO3n

I recently relocated my farming operation to the Eastern province and here we have Aloes, the seashore and an elephant too. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/i...ArpnzjpIcSifIk Still got to get around to changing the plate sometime though

Calling ManRacks

So I'm obsessed with resolving the burning-pant-leg-on-the-pipe issue (I still can't believe this isn't epidemic) and am envisioning a stamped/bent & vented/louvered piece of sheet aluminum similar to the Works frame guard just to keep my leg off the pipe. I think something tidy could look really trick. it could attach using the side cover and then near the reservoir.

I also want an 'under fender' front fender support for my Moose fender bag.

Any ideas?

front Shock primer

Hey guys, can I ask someone to share a short primer on how to air up the front shocks? I've not ever done it but after a hard and long trip in E Africa it seems like they have become really soft. Is there a document or a writeup already on this? I have no idea how much pressure they are supposed to take, how often to check, etc. Thanks for the advice.

And now for a little XR porn...

Spotted this at the Nairobi stop-over point for all the people overlanding Cape to Cairo.

A little mishap we had while on adventure in E Africa...

You could try and ask the guy over in the garage sub forum, who makes custom one off aluminum panniers, to make you something. I can't remember the name of the thread or the guys screen name but he has a welding thread and a flea market thread. When I get on my laptop next I'll try and find you a link.

Thanks.
I'm only going to sell it if I can avoid taking too much of a loss. It was an impulse move because my Sertao was having a few minor issues and I went bipolar about it and bought the XR to replace it. I'm keeping the beemer so I think the XR might be a little too close in some areas in comparison, so I'd like to go with the "less is more" idea and get the new CRF250L as my commuter/dirt explorer.
We'll see.
